Jellia leaned back in the lounge chair, sipped her soft, and stared out at the ocean. This was so incredible! Ska-drek-a and Ska-drek were off on a vacation and so she had all of her time after work free! And she got in free to Garden Party, so she had decided to spend it here. Drinking soft, ordering meals… not at the Oasis. She could afford it certainly, on her part of the household budget, but she couldn’t really justify it in her own mind.
So she was sitting her and sipping her soft and thinking what she would have for dinner when her comp dinged.
Med Tech: Jellia, please finish the attached exercises before your next visit to me in three days.
Excercises? She opened the attatchment:
Sample En-Drek resumes and discussion.
It was a whole series of files. She clicked the first one:
Sample En-Drek Resume
Name: John Smith
Status: Li-Kesh
Height: 1.9
Weight: 88
Physical Condition: Mid
Income: Low
Percentage: 80%
Previous En-Drek-a: n/a
Sexual Preferences: n/a
Given that he can, as a Li-Kesh, list no sexual preferences, what can you be justified in assuming?
She blushed. How could she know? She closed that one and opened another:
Name: Samuel Jones
Status: Lo-Ska
Height: 1.87
Weight: 95
Physical Condition: Low-Mid
Income: High
Percentage: 80%
Previous En-Drek-u: 7 {see reports}
Sexual Preferences: Frequent, mid-morning, uninterrupted
Well, so that gave her some idea of what ‘Sexual Preferences’ meant, anyway. She couldn’t imagine getting asked a question like this on Ephemera… well, no, that wasn’t right. Ska-drek-a had told her that women exchanged info on the dating cyclo. And, she supposed, males did too. Well, that solved the problem of the first question, anyway. She had heard that males all liked sex ‘frequently’. That certainly was her expereince, as far as she had gone.
List three advantages, and three disadvantages, of this particular Lo-Kesh, justifying your answer.
What? Like what did she like or dislike about him? Well, he was old, obviously. And his physical condition was lower than she would like. She assumed he could still take walks but, anyway. He was too heavy, in her view. There, that was three.
And what did she like? Or, what advantages? Well he was tall enough. And he had a nice income, so that would be good for the budget. What else. Well, ‘uninterupted’ sounded good, anyway. Who wanted to be interupted. She supposed it meant with Keshu. Altho, maybe it meant, or also meant, that he would want her to put her wrist comp away and not answer it while they were together. That was probably good…
She wrote those in and went to the next one:
Name: Michael Jones
Status: Lo-Kesh
Height: 1.75
Weight: 52
Physical condtion: Mid
Income: Low
Previous En-Drek-u: n/a
Sexual Prefernces: n/a
What information would you want about this Lo-Kesh that is not in this summary?
Well, why he was Lo-kesh, obviously!
What attributes of a lo-kesh might lead them to be lo-kesh, but might nevertheless lead them to be a good en-drek, or would be irrelevant to being a good lo-kesh?
Jellia stared at the question. That seemed contradictory. And then she flushed. She herself had just downgraded a man because he was short. But his being short really had nothing to do with how good an en-drek he might be! It might make him yummier to look at, and might make physical intimacy a bit easier but… but it didn’t mean he couldn’t earn a good income, or do a good job of helping raise the kesh-u, and he might be really funny…
She looked back at the question. Something that would lead him to being a lo-kesh but… well, that was obvious!
1) If he was really focused on his education, that might make him unwilling to go li-kesh, but it might mean he would make a good income.
2) He might be really serious about leadership, which might have turned off some kesh-u, or even led him to wait to become lo-kesh
Thank you for reading Von’s Substack. I would love it if you commented! I love hearing from readers, especially critical comments. I would love to start more letter exchanges, so if there’s a subject you’re interested in, get writing and tag me!
Being ‘restacked’ and mentioned in ‘notes’ is very important for lesser-known stacks so… feel free! I’m semi-retired and write as a ministry (and for fun) so you don’t need to feel guilty you aren’t paying for anything, but if you enjoy my writing (even if you dramatically disagree with it), then restack, please! Or mention me in one of your own posts.
If I don’t write you back it is almost certain that I didn’t see it, so please feel free to comment and link to your post. Or if you just think I would be interested in your post!
