“So, you’re off again?” Tselnto asked.
“Yes, but I will be coming back. You can act as my agent in the meantime.”
“Your agent?”
“Of course. I am your Kolchno, am I not? You know more about me than anyone living, so your guesses should be good. And good for you, I should think.”
He cocked his head to one side, causing me to chuckle, and then he said, “Very well. I will do my best. When do you expect to return?”
“I cannot really say. With the number of Schips going back and forth I don’t think I need to stay with any one Schip, but I can fly from Schip to Schip. This should get me back rather quickly. Then off to the mountains, find the Eagle King, recruit an army of Eagles… I would think I could be back in two months.”
“The Dwarves will be hard pressed to have much in the way of forts done in two months,” Tselnto said.
“True, but irrelevant. We don’t ‘need’ the forts to begin our work. Indeed, we won’t really need the forts until…”
“… until nests are needed,” Tselnto said, with admirable tact, catching my embarrassment.
“Yes. The eggs must be protected,” I said.
“On another issue,” I said, “there are some people that I want in my fort.”
“I think I can guess,” he said, “Scraggle Weed?”
“Yes, and Tentarui and his family in the valley. Their valley if it is a good location. You know the people I have met, surround me with good people.”
“Very well. I think I understand. When are you going to leave?”
“Now,” I said and, matching actions to words, flew off.
