Does anyone have the ‘right to win’ politically? Not the right to a fair election, but the right to actually win??
There is a new website that has popped up in Texas politics that has that name: The Right to Win. Which is nonsense on its face. But it is doubly nonsensical in Texas, because it is a website that (purportedly) is supporting the Texas GOP. Which is the largest conservative (if anyone knows what that word means) political group in the world… and wins all the time. It like sweeps statewide elections routinely, has a governor, lt governor, both senators… and even the democrat speaker of the house had to pretend to be a Republican to get elected.
So it is nonsensical to say anyone has a right to win, it is doubly nonsensical to say about the Texas GOP, which routinely wins… but what is their actual point?
Well, their actual point is that they are calling the Texas GOP to stop worrying so much about child murder. That eliminating child murder in Texas should not be such a big deal. So the people they really want to win are those who support child murder in Texas.
Here are some of its planks, suitably edited for clarity.
o Eliminate [child murder] as a Priority: We urge the Republican Party of Texas to prioritize issues that resonate with most Texans and have a direct impact on their lives, rather than allowing the debate [over where Texans should be murdering their children] to overshadow other pressing concerns.
Now there is a depth of honesty in this plank. For many Texans, the fact that Texans are murdering their children is not a pressing concern. Luckily for them (unluckily for the state and the rest of us) they have a party that believes with them: the Democrat party. There is a party that supports the murder of Texans: the Democrat party.
o Eliminate Resolutions Targeting [child murder] Pills (Abortifacients): We call for the removal of resolutions that seek to ban pills [that murder children] (abortifacients), recognizing the need for a nuanced approach to [how and when we murder our children]. These medications are typically utilized within the initial 10 weeks of pregnancy and are widely regarded as exceptionally safe.
I left that last part: ‘exceptionally safe’ in, just to throw it into sharp relief. Because, of course, a pill that kills 50% of the people affected by it is not, in the normal use of language, considered ‘exceptionally safe’. Only the most dire of medical uses would even come close to justifying such a death rate. Indeed, I doubt the FDA would approve it even then.
o Reject Planks Advocating for Prosecution of Doctors [murdering children]: Punitive measures against professionals [murderers] who [murder children] are counterproductive and do not conform with our conviction regarding the importance of individual liberty.
I left the last part in here too… because I’ve never met a Libertarian, not even on line, who believed in allowing hit men free rein. Leaving aside that it kind of spoils the child’s ‘individual liberty’ to kill her, no one’s individual liberty is traditionally seen as going that far.
I wonder, would they also support the ‘individual liberty’ of the father who executes one of these child murderers?
Conclusion
I hope they lose. I hope that ‘right to win’ loses. I hope they lose big. Because if they were to turn the Texas GOP into yet another party that supports child-murder, the Texas GOP would start losing. Cause we already have one of those… so they would leave those of us who are opposed to child-murder no choice but to start a third party.
One of the biggest problem in the child murder debate is that we tend to get very confused on language. We use words such as ‘fetus’ and ‘abortion’ and even ‘reproductive health care’ to disguise reality. And in this case even the word ‘win’.
Because if the Texas GOP were to suddenly start supporting the murder of children, that would not be a ‘win’, no matter how many elections went their way. It would be a loss… and a massive one.

I’m against Child Murder.
That's the Texas GOP for you. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by going commie.
It was the conservatives that supported the anti-abortion leglislation. But the GOP needs to stress the border as well and the illegal immigration. They really need to start pointing out that Houston and Austin have almost gone marxist.
