I have been busy watching various people write and speak on the Israel war, and it has been a very interesting mix of voices. People on the ‘right’ and on the ‘left’; people on Israel’s side, Hamas’s side, and those trying for some middle position. So I thought I would compile a list, for my reference and possibly for others as well. This list is meant to focus on Substackers, but is open to everyone.
This list is meant to be always being updated. If you are on the list and wish to protest your or others’ placement, or add other links, put them in the comments below.
I wrote that no one deserves to be raped because of the October 7th attacks. Should that be on this list? My stuff is more about the drama triangle than the actual Israel-Palestine argument. So I don't know that it even should be listed there.
Holly Math Nerd was more leftist originally, and doesn't align with the right. She's not even going to vote for either party in protest. I think splitting people between left vs right is very limiting these days. The labels don't seem to mean much and aren't very good descriptors.
I'd label
https://hollymathnerd.substack.com as right-wing, pro-Israel
https://substack.com/@whispertrees as right-wing, anti-Israel (ditto Don Pato, but I don't have the link to his substack)
