I am still trying to figure this out. The audio is from the written post, not the podcast. Cause the written post includes the writing. But I liked these images best for the standalone podcast version. Maybe I should put a link.

Well, I would disagree with courtship as well, but your point about the bridegroom is very well taken.

Re courtship... how many people in the Bible courted? Where is it taught?

How did Adam get his wife? How did Isaac get his wife? How did Christ get his bride? Indeed, how did Jacob get his wives? Was there any cording involved in any of those?

Yes, I have fat fingers and I’m on my phone so I often use voice recognition and don’t edit it carefully enough.

Well, it’s all fine to say God makes the marriage, but that doesn’t actually help us figure out exactly how that’s supposed to work in our lives. I have written a whole book actually two books on this subject if you want to read them, but I would encourage you to look at all the marriages and scripture and ask yourself what the role of the father is? Or for some of them what the role of the authority in their life is?
