So, if you are interested in getting into the Christian Fiction Writers Circle, comment on this post with your bio:
Name: As it appears on SS
Member Level: Full vs Telescope vs Partial (see Intro post for details)
Stack(s): Where your fiction appears. If it appears off substack, you will need to give us some sort of link. If you don’t write fiction, your Substack address.
Confession: The Apostles Creed is mandatory, if you have a further confession, list it here.
Fiction: What genres of fiction you write. (Put ‘none’ if you don’t write Christian Fiction (yet).
Goals: What are your goals as a Christian writer. These are your ‘What I want my writing to communicate’ goals, not your ‘I want to make a million dollars and become world famous’ goals.
Bio: (Optional) A brief rundown of you who are: Age (or generation), spouse, kids, grandkids, travel, job.
A reminder, the goal of this circle is to to encourage, support, and critique each other’s Substack writing. This group would be dealing with explicitly Christian fiction only. Not mere ‘fiction by a Christian author’, but fiction intended to advance the cause of Christ. You can write all sorts of things, but submissions to this circle should be explicitly Christian and fiction. This can include dystopias, allegories, science fiction, fantasy, etc. It can be gospel focused, or teach life lessons. It can include all ages. Foul language will not be permitted.

Goals:
-To glorify God
-To preach the gospel
-To challenge the church in areas of modern heresy or false doctrine

-When writing Historical fiction, not to bow down to our modern age. To use concepts, language, and attitudes of that time, not our time. To deal with issues as they faced them then. (Thus a modern Christian novel or movie might have a man struggling with pornography on the internet. The 19th century equivalent was… mistresses. The female equivalent in both eras was probably romance novels.)
- To avoid modern, false stereotypes… such as ones where the woman is super Godly and the man a foolish jerk.
