As a fellow-grandparent, I would like to suggest to you an organization that is good for grandparents who sense a burden for their offspring. It is called Legacy Coalition and is found at https://legacycoalition.com/
I have been involved ever since I went to one of their annual summits focusing on Intentional Christian Grandparenting. Another one is coming up in February next year.
I have 8 all told. 2 from a daughter, 5 from a son, and 1 of them is a “step-grandson.” A couple of friends got married late in life (first for both) and had a son. Their parents were too old, too feeble, or too passed away to fulfill the role so they asked us to step in, and invitation that is a blessing for all concerned.
Solid thoughts about family order. It's something my family deals with often, and you're right that training is necessary.
You also win the understatement of the day award: "sometimes doing the harder thing will give you an easier life... long term. "

Sounds interesting. Do they publish anything? Have a substack?
I do😀
But I don’t think they have a specific presence here.
Well, I plan on making this into a series, so feel free to comment along the way. How many grandkids do you have?

How many have you got?
I have 25 born so far. No sign of a sudden shortage :)
Perhaps I should address you as Abraham instead of Abram. Father of many nations instead of exulted father…
They have resources for Christian grandparents available online
