“Balls to the wall” may be of less vulgar origin than you thought. It basically means taking all of the aircraft throttles all the way forward to the firewall for full power.

Skimmed it, and I do think he was using it improperly - perhaps with a bit of double entendre, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use the term myself in the aviation context.

Well, I won’t say he was using it ‘improperly’, just a bit more crudely than I am comfortable going public with :)

I think he is using the more army/marines meaning of ‘nailing their balls to the wall’… ie slaughtering them in a very graphic way.

Thanks for the feedback. There are definitely some valid points there that I can address - the "bio-bot" term in particular seems to have given people the idea that it was a machine, even though the preceding text mentions it being grown in a tank. An easy fix for the revision process. The "endgame mode" comment is also a good one, I should clarify that as well.

As for the title being vulgar - I think Ryan (comments above/below) caught the double play there best. Figurative "max effort" (which is what it requires to take down the monster) vs literal... well, you got that part right!
